Sacucci, a Chinese company dedicated to the artistic work of paneling and hardwood elements, commissioned our architectural studio to design, concept and corporate image of its new headquarters next to the factory, in a growing area in the metropolitan area of Shanghai.
We conceived a “mountain building” based on the precepts of feng-shui and including aspects of sustainable architecture such as landscaped roofs, rainwater recovery, sectorised spaces for air conditioning and the opening of windows to take advantage of light and heat.
The building has a complex programme: a volume containing offices, a museum area explaining the tradition of woodworking in oriental culture, a theatre, two showrooms, restaurants, a private penthouse and museum-gardens which will serve to open up to the city and create an educational programme for the city’s schools.
